Meet Our Board

The Regional Board is in an agreement with Natural Resources Canada and provides all reporting requirements and is accountable to Natural Resources Canada for the full scope of the project, including all project funds. The board establishes the NTFP and Bio-energy and Wood Technical (BEWT) Teams and collects and reviews their yearly proposals and reporting. They also have the primary responsibility for blanket funding applications for projects and primary decision-making authority and will enter into contracts on behalf of the Council and Technical Teams. The board also advises the Mayors’ group on policy issues and is involved in hiring and managing the GM and staff. The board meets at least every 2-months face-to-face rotating within the region with additional meetings scheduled by teleconference where required.
